How Johnny’s came to be
Johnny’s started as a conversation between friends in early 2025, when Matt came to Johnny with an idea and an opportunity to take Johnny’s heritage and bring it to life in Bergen.
What followed was a creative, hands-on process built on trust, curiosity and shared taste, shaped as much by friendship as by food. Johnny’s is an American-Italian eatery, with an early focus on pizza as the foundation, and the freedom to grow into much more over time. From the start, the aim has been sustainable growth and building a genuine community around the project, rather than chasing scale for its own sake. At its core, Johnny’s is about making something honest and enjoyable together, thoughtful cooking, familiar flavours, and a place that feels worth returning to.
